DepartmentThe Alps (Hte-Provence)

Summary
Observation of a circular form in level flight then rising.
Detailed descriptionOn June 29, 1993 around 9 a.m., two witnesses observe a circular form of a diameter from five to six meters with 2 tubes which hang below in reversed V form. The machine flies horizontally in silence 600 m above the ground approximately without releasing any kind of smoke. The machine then went up vertically. One of the witnesses followed the ascension with binoculars until losing it in a cloud, which was an altitude of approximately 10000m. In the area, soldiers were carrying out an operation, but the officer present did not observe the phenomenon and does not seem to have relation with the military operations. After investigation and considering the event happened near a model airplane club, the phenomenon could not be identified.
